Grades

The marks and grades that these young people have obtained in their board exams are meaningless in the context of their life, in the broader sense. They are not an indicator of their IQ or EQ. Those getting lower marks or grades will have to live with the ignominy of it throughout their life. Those getting high marks or grades will have to spend their whole life proving that it was not a fluke. And meanwhile they will grow up as individuals to compete against others in the job market where these marks , grades and subject they studied will have little relevance on the aptitude they need to survive and prosper.

And later in life, they will find that they do not know anything about their own language, culture, history or the country. They will never be truly global because of this lacuna of not understanding their own identity. They will enjoy the material trappings of life and think it as the salvation.

I know I'm sounding weirdly cynical and negative. It is a mood thing perhaps. Don't go by it . If children from your family have done well in the exams celebrate it . Pass on my love to them not for the success but as human beings. #BitterPill
